Multiplexes Milk Baahubali 2, Refuse To Slash Ticket Prices After Opening Weekend
Be it Aamir Khan’s Dangal, Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees or Salman Khan’s Sultan, their tickets got cheaper after the opening weekend but most multiplexes are refusing to budge when it comes to Baahubali 2
2017 started on a slow note for Bollywood with even big ticket films like Raees, Kaabil and Jolly LLB 2 getting a lukewarm response from the audience. And then came Baahubali 2, the multi-lingual powerhouse which broke all records and made Rs 128 crore in its opening weekend in India itself.
Baahubali collected Rs 46.50 crore on Sunday after amassing a whopping Rs 41 crore on Friday and Rs 40.50 crore on Saturday. Yesterday, the fantasy thriller garnered Rs 40.25 crore and is showing no signs of slowing down.
If you were waiting for the opening weekend to pass to watch this film on a cheaper ticket, here is some bad news for you.
Seeing the Baahubali 2 craze, most multiplexes have broken from tradition and decided that they will not slash the ticket prices of the superhit.
After a film’s opening weekend, multiplexes reduce the ticket prices but this time they are intent on riding the Baahubali 2 wave to the bank. Especially as this is the first big hit of the year and the film attained this feat on a non-festival weekend.

The following records have been set by Baahubali 2: Highest opening for any Indian film ever, highest opening for any dubbed film, highest advance booking, the first film to make Rs 100 crore in its international earnings on the day of its release.
Baahubali 2 starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, amassed a whopping Rs 506 crore worldwide in its opening weekend.
The film has also managed to break the record of Salman Khan starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (40.35 crores) and Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year (42.60 crores).
More than 2 years in the making with an ocean of manpower in both production and post-production, Baahubali 2 was India’s most anticipated film followed by 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, which releases on 18 October. The anticipation was doubled by the fact that the prequel ended on a high note with one of the greatest cliff-hangers of all time.
And now the multiplexes are out to milk the janta’s love for Baahubali 2. Don’t be surprised if the ticket dates are not reduced even in the second week.
